Pottery and Pine Studio - 15

Location: Birch Vale / Genre: Multi disciplinary

Artist Statement

Pottery and Pine Studio is a revamped workspace in Birch Vale near just off the Sett Valley Trail and occupied by Natasha Lolljee and Scruffy Dog Creations (aka Ruth Taylor). This little place reminiscent of Bagpuss & Co, although neither of them are potters nor into pine they didn’t feel they could change the name of a local landmark opposite the Crescent.

Natasha Lolljee is a magpie although the dodo is more her style, her works encompasses varied practises. Wrapped in a cocoon of nature you’ll find her exploring mediums and creative mulling’s. Comfort lies in lino printing and painting but she’s a sucker for an installation. Her work manifests in many forms; crafts, photography, sculpture, and art, inspired from the vale to the sea.

Scruffy Dog Creations is the brainchild of Ruth Taylor - a crafter of many things yarn based. Starting out as a knitter she developed her skills to include crochet, and felting. From wearables to household items and yarn art. Inspired by life in the outdoors, cycling, Juno (scruffy dog) and the natural world around her - if it’s woolly she’s probably had a go.

Their studio providing space to work & display away from the chaos of everyday life and storage for print & yarn products!
