Artist Statement
Sculptural ceramics.
I make sculptural ceramics inspired by natural textures. Collecting seaweeds, I plaster cast them, to use as decoration on my vases. I have also cast ancient tree bark, with its wonderful patterns.
The worlds ancient pictographs are interesting me, using crank clay to get the look of desert rocks, carving, impressing and stenciling my own glyphs, on to my work.
