Artist Statement
Making pots is like playing with mud! My work is primarily wheel thrown. Using my trusty old Podmore wheel, and mainly working with stoneware clay, I produce pots for you to enjoy using in the house and the garden. Sticking to a simple and earthy colour palette, I glaze my pots, often leaving sections of the clay bare to show off its own natural colour and texture.
More recently, I have been experimenting with slip decorating, using a high fired earthenware clay to produce vessels for functional and decorative use.
Most often I fire my work in an electric kiln, but when the opportunity arises, I enjoy the unpredictability that comes with reduction firing with gas or wood.
