The Derbyshire Makers is a growing community of Makers and Artists who love to create beautiful products and gifts for others to enjoy, and run creative workshops to share their passion, skills and knowledge with others. It was co-founded in 2019 by Amanda McConnell, a Fine Art Photographic Artist, and Louise James, a Creative Sewist, with the aim of supporting and inspiring each other through sharing, learning and networking. Our friendly, supportive and inspiring community brings hobbyists, part time and full time Makers together, and provides support, friendship and collaboration opportunities through our fun and informative meet ups, Facebook group and website. There are a number of Artisan Fairs and Pop-Up Shops that are organised throughout the year, and new for 2022 is our ‘Have a Go’ workshops for those over the age of 18 who want to learn a new art or craft with one of our talented Derbyshire Makers, in a friendly and relaxed environment at The Whitworth Centre.
