Artist Statement
This year Mark is showcasing an exciting change in direction towards landscapes in oils and a fresh pointillist style. The paintings depict landscapes from around the county and many are inspired by the regular countryside walks Mark took during lockdown.
This new direction is an amazing contrast for the full time Derbyshire artist who is best known for his intricate highly detailed pencil and colour pencil drawings of animals and architecture.
The focus of the exhibition will be the oil paintings but there will be some pencil drawings on display too. There will be prints and greetings cards available to purchase is addition to the original art. Commissions of all subjects are most welcome.
