Louise Jannetta presents an eclectic collection of work. Textures, layering, glazes, gestures, colour and mark-making are combined with the qualities of the medium itself.
Louise’s commitment to materials and the attributes that lend and extend meaning has entailed a vast scope of practical research and the acquisition of a variety of skills. Representation is presented in collusion with abstraction in a dialogue between fact and assumption, between histories and possible futures and between supposition and knowledge.
Diverse and uncompromising Louise’s intention is to explore the vocabulary and the framing of painting. Subject and medium are combined with an extensive repertoire of skills to allow the alchemy of matter to express itself. The result is a sensory feast utilising haptic, emotional, temporal and visual stimulation to evoke the cabalistic power of the earth on which we depend. The earthy relevance of matter is given centre stage.

Experimental and inquisitive Louise has developed an array of techniques and is therefore able to offer advice and expertise on a variety of mediums and processes.

Held at her very well equipped Gallery & Studio in Buxton where Louise is generous with her knowledge, studio equipment and facilities.
Structured workshops are held and you are also very welcome to request focus on a particular issue or element.
All workshops can be tailored to groups or individuals. If you want to really immerse yourself in the generosity of these techniques then two or three day courses can be arranged.
The workshops in Louise’s studio run form 10.00am to 4.30pm. Most materials and lunch is provided with refreshments and biscuits served all day. The cost of a lesson is £100.00 for the day. Each lesson is restricted to only six customers per lesson so that Louise can give tuition focused on each person’s needs.
